external image JFK.JPG In the election of 1960 there was a tight race between Kennedy and Nixon. Kennedy had promised to move the nation towards the conquering of "the New Frontier." After he had barley defeated Nixon Kennedy was able to succeed in enacting only a few of his presidential plans. One reason for this is even though the democrats had the majority in both houses a lot of them were not willing to work with him and had agreed with republicans on a few of his key issues. Despite these setbacks Kennedy was still able to push for several of his ideas and was successful in enacting those policies. Among these policies were getting labor unions to lower their wage demands and getting businesses to lower the prices on their goods which was one of the key factors that lead to the economic growth of the time.
